British F1 Grand Prix: Race Incidents and Conditions

During the final practice session ahead of the British Grand Prix, Haas driver Oliver Bearman received a severe ten-place grid penalty and four penalty points on his superlicence for a dangerous incident under red flag conditions. The session had been suspended following Gabriel Borteleto's accident in the final minutes, mandating that all drivers immediately reduce speed and proceed slowly back to the pit lane.

Despite the explicit red flag, Bearman lost control of his car and crashed into the barriers while braking for the pit entry. The stewards' investigation revealed that Car 87, driven by Bearman, accelerated significantly to race pace as he approached Turn 15, entering the pit entry road at an alarming 260 kph. This speed was, remarkably, faster than his previous in-laps under normal racing conditions.
