Officers were initially called to Yewdale Avenue in Breightmet at approximately 3.15am on Tuesday, August 4, following reports of an assault. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman, aged in her 30s, who was unresponsive and had sustained injuries. Despite the immediate efforts of both police and paramedics, she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A murder investigation was promptly launched, leading to a house on the street being cordoned off. Forensic officers have been pictured conducting work outside the property, gathering crucial evidence.
