Bollywood and Sports Icons Unite to Praise India's Daring 'Operation Sindoor'

In a decisive move, the Indian armed forces launched 'Operation Sindoor' in the early hours of Wednesday, conducting precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These targets specifically included the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. The operation was a direct and forceful retaliation to the horrific April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the tragic deaths of 26 people, predominantly tourists.
The announcement of 'Operation Sindoor' triggered a wave of overwhelming support and praise from across India's sporting and film fraternities. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar led the tributes, posting on 'X': "Fearless in unity. Boundless in strength. India's shield is her people. There's no room for terrorism in this world. We're ONE TEAM! Jai Hind." Other former cricketers, including Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, and Shikhar Dhawan, also took to social media to hail India's strong response. Sehwag shared a poignant message: "Agar koi aap par patthar phenke toh uspar Phool Phenko, Lekin Gamle ke saath (If someone throws stones at you then respond with flowers but not without the pots they are planted in). Jai Hind." Dhawan added, "India takes a stand against terrorism," while Pathan and badminton ace Saina Nehwal simply tweeted, "Jai Hind." Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh wrote, "Bharat Mata ki Jai," and wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt affirmed, "India's zero tolerance towards terrorism!! Jai Hind - Jai Jawan #sindoor." Chess master Vidith Gujrathi emphasized the necessity of a firm response, stating, "I am glad India responded firmly with Operation Sindoor after the horrific Pahalgam attack. Terrorism must never go unanswered. And what a beautiful name for the operation. Bharat Mata ki Jai!"
The film industry also united in commending the armed forces. Actors Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Allu Arjun, and Suniel Shetty were among many who expressed their solidarity and admiration. Akshay Kumar captioned his post with 'Operation Sindoor' as "Jai Hind. Jai Mahakaal." Kangana Ranaut, also a BJP MP, reiterated the government's "zero tolerance" stance on terrorism, wishing forces "safety and success." "Pushpa" star Allu Arjun tweeted, "May justice be served. Jai Hind #OperationSindoor," and Jr NTR also prayed for the "safety & strength of our Indian Army." Suniel Shetty declared, "Zero tolerance. Total justice. #OperationSindoor." Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur highlighted that India's response demonstrated its responsibility and confidence, noting it was a "precise hit at territories and organisation that backed the horrendous terrorists that killed innocent civilians." Riteish Deshmukh exclaimed, "Jai Hind Ki Sena, Bharat Mata Ki Jai!!!! #OperationSindoor." Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar shared, "One nation, together we stand. Jai Hind, Vande Mataram," and Nimrat Kaur, whose father was an Indian Army officer, praised the forces' valor, writing, "United with our forces. One country. One mission. #JaiHind." Veteran actor Anupam Kher and singer Adnan Sami also shared posts with the message "Bharat Mata Ki Jai #OperationSindoor" and "Jai Hind #OperationSindoor" respectively. India's actions followed a high-level meeting on April 29 where Prime Minister Narendra Modi granted the armed forces "complete operational freedom" to decide on the mode, targets, and timing of the response to the terror attack, which had caused widespread outrage.
