BNB Explodes to 80 Million Holders, Dethroning Tron as Top Stablecoin Network!

BNB Chain has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing Tron to become the blockchain with the largest number of stablecoin holders globally. Recent data from Token Terminal reveals that BNB Chain now boasts approximately 79.3 million stablecoin-holding addresses, narrowly exceeding Tron's 76.1 million. This accomplishment highlights a profound change in blockchain technology adoption and usage over the past year.

Since late 2024, the number of stablecoin holders on BNB Chain has surged by about 54.5 percent, growing from roughly 42 million to nearly 80 million addresses. In contrast, while Tron's user base also expanded during the same period, its growth rate was considerably slower, allowing BNB Chain to close the significant gap and claim the top position. This metric, reflecting actual wallet adoption rather than merely speculative trading volume, is considered one of the most reliable indicators of genuine blockchain activity and network utility.

Stablecoins are foundational assets for settlement across various sectors, including centralized exchanges, decentralized finance (DeFi), and payments. Their distribution therefore serves as a critical measure of a network's practical value. Beyond the top two, Ethereum holds approximately 26 million stablecoin holders, followed by Celo with 24.5 million, and Polygon with 21.7 million. Newer platforms like Base, Solana, and Arbitrum are still considerably behind these leaders, despite experiencing consistent growth throughout 2026. The increasing number of stablecoin users on BNB Chain is anticipated to positively impact the broader BNB Chain ecosystem, fostering growth in decentralized applications and enhancing on-chain liquidity. A larger stablecoin user base typically creates more opportunities and strengthens the entire network infrastructure by facilitating easier distribution of liquidity.

Despite this notable network achievement, the price of the BNB token has not yet fully reflected the milestone. After a period of recovery following its June correction, BNB is currently trading around $586. Technically, the chart has shown improvement since earlier in the summer, with BNB successfully regaining both the 20-day and 50-day moving averages. The immediate challenge for BNB is to break above its 100-day moving average, positioned around $602, which represents the first significant barrier to a broader price recovery. Momentum indicators also suggest a positive shift, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) climbing above 53, indicating that buyers have started to regain control without pushing the market into overbought conditions. However, the relatively low trading volume suggests that investors are exercising caution, likely waiting for stronger confirmation before committing to larger positions. If BNB successfully surmounts the 100-day moving average, its next technical target would likely be the 200-day moving average, located near $647.
