BMW India Sales Growth: BMW India Achieves 10% Sales Growth in H1 2025, Driven by Electric Vehicles, ET Auto
Electric vehicle sales surged by 234%, contributing 18% to total car sales, with the iX1 Long Wheelbase leading the charge. Long wheelbase models also saw significant growth, driven by customer preference.

German luxury automaker BMW Group recorded a 10 per cent year-on-year growth in sales in India, delivering 7,774 BMW and MINI cars during January–June 2025, up from 7,081 units in the same period last year. The group also retailed 2,569 motorcycles under the BMW Motorrad brand in the first half of the calendar year, reports PTI.
Electric vehicles continued to be a strong growth driver, with BMW and MINI EV sales surging 234 per cent year-on-year to 1,322 units. EVs now contribute 18per cent to the group’s total car sales in India. The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase emerged as the top-selling electric model, followed by the flagship i7.
Long wheelbase (LWB) models across sedans and SAVs (Sports Activity Vehicles) saw a remarkable 159 per cent growth and now contribute 47per cent to BMW Group India’s overall car sales. Key LWB models include the BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, and iX1.
“Our long wheelbase luxury models continue to be in high demand,” said Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India, adding that strategic product positioning has helped the brand align closely with evolving customer preferences in the premium mobility segment.
