This groundbreaking system seamlessly integrates Near Field Communication (NFC) tags, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and the immutable nature of blockchain technology to create an unbreakable chain of trust, extending from manufacturers directly to consumers. Dr. Oluseyi Akindeinde, a lead inventor, highlighted the system's potential to revolutionize product provenance and combat increasingly sophisticated counterfeiting.

The patent certificate for cipherCHIP tap2verify was officially granted on December 14, 2023, by the Industrial Property Office Registry, Commercial Law Department, Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment. The document was signed by Stella Ozo Ezenduka, the Chief Registrar, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, underscoring the national significance of this innovation. Furthermore, the Trademark for cipherCHIP tap2verify was secured earlier, on October 20, 2023. It falls under a broad classification encompassing scientific, electric, and data processing apparatus, among others, and is slated for publication in the trademark journal.
