Blockchain Breakthrough: Hyperspace Locks Down Second Patent for Groundbreaking cipherCHIP Tech!

Hyperspace Technologies Limited, a prominent Web3 startup based in Lagos and specializing in advanced smart security infrastructure and key management systems, has achieved a significant milestone by securing its second patent and trademarks. The latest intellectual property protects their innovative “cipherCHIP tap2verify” system, a blockchain-integrated contactless product authentication and verification solution.
Developed meticulously within Hyperspace Technologies Limited’s dedicated research and development (R&D) division, cipherCHIP tap2verify introduces a novel and robust approach to ensuring product authenticity. This groundbreaking system seamlessly integrates Near Field Communication (NFC) tags, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and the immutable nature of blockchain technology to create an unbreakable chain of trust, extending from manufacturers directly to consumers. Dr. Oluseyi Akindeinde, a lead inventor, highlighted the system's potential to revolutionize product provenance and combat increasingly sophisticated counterfeiting.
The patent certificate for cipherCHIP tap2verify was officially granted on December 14, 2023, by the Industrial Property Office Registry, Commercial Law Department, Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment. The document was signed by Stella Ozo Ezenduka, the Chief Registrar, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, underscoring the national significance of this innovation. Furthermore, the Trademark for cipherCHIP tap2verify was secured earlier, on October 20, 2023. It falls under a broad classification encompassing scientific, electric, and data processing apparatus, among others, and is slated for publication in the trademark journal.
This achievement follows an earlier success for Hyperspace Technologies Limited, which in August of the same year, secured a patent for cipherKEY tap2sign™ MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication). Also pioneered by Dr. Oluseyi Akindeinde, who is also the co-founder of Digital Encode, cipherKEY tap2sign™ MFA is a next-generation security system designed to enhance user identity verification. It leverages the decentralized characteristics of blockchain, the robust security of public/private key cryptography, and the convenience of NFC technology to deliver an unprecedented level of protection against prevalent threats such as identity theft, phishing, and social engineering attacks. These dual innovations solidify Hyperspace Technologies Limited's position at the forefront of secure, blockchain-driven authentication solutions.
