BLACKPINK Unleashes 'Deadline' Mini-Album, Lights Up South Korea’s Most-Visited Museum

Global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK has released their highly anticipated five-track mini-album, "DEADLINE," on Friday, Feb. 27. This project marks their first group release since 2022’s "Born Pink," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The arrival of "DEADLINE" also comes four years after the quartet last dropped a collection of songs, a period during which individual members pursued various successful solo endeavors.
To commemorate this significant return, BLACKPINK has partnered with the National Museum of Korea, the country's most-visited museum, for a special project. From Feb. 26 through March 8, the museum's exterior and outdoor plaza will be illuminated in BLACKPINK’s signature pink hue. Inside, a dedicated "DEADLINE" listening zone has been installed along the museum’s "Path to History," blending projection mapping with the monumental marble architecture, creating a unique intersection of K-pop spectacle and 5,000 years of Korean heritage.
The "DEADLINE" EP features five tracks, including the previously-released singles "Go" and "Jump." "Jump" notably debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 in 2025 and also reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album’s full tracklist also includes "Me and My," "Champion," and "Fxxxboy." The release follows the group’s recent stadium-scale touring run, the Deadline World Tour, which commenced last July and concluded in January.
During their professional hiatus as a group, LISA, ROSÉ, JENNIE, and JISOO each engaged in high-visibility solo activities. LISA released her debut solo album "Alter Ego," ROSÉ released "Rosie," and JENNIE unveiled "Ruby." JISOO, meanwhile, released her EP "Amortage." Beyond music, some members also ventured into acting, with LISA making her debut in "White Lotus," JENNIE starring in "The Idol," and JISOO serving as the leading lady in Netflix’s upcoming series "Boyfriend on Demand."
Despite thriving in their solo careers, the members expressed a longing for group activities. ROSÉ shared her thoughts on the album, stating, “It was really interesting to come back and see what was created after that [year of exploring and being individual selves]. I really like all the songs there.” JENNIE, in a January cover story, echoed similar sentiments, telling Billboard, “I’ve missed doing tours with them. I miss our silly moments... I want to say it’s going to be the most powerful [versions] of ourselves that anyone has seen.” This new mini-album represents a powerful reunion for the quartet, delivering new music that BLINKs, their dedicated fanbase, have patiently awaited for years.
