BlackBuck CEO Clashes with Critics: Firm Stays in Bengaluru Despite 'Pothole' Post Firestorm!
BlackBuck Ltd. CEO Rajesh Yabaji has issued a clear statement dismissing earlier media reports, clarifying that his company is not relocating out of Bengaluru. Instead, BlackBuck is in the process of moving certain operational units to a different location within the city, maintaining its commitment to the Karnataka capital.
Yabaji elaborated on the company's journey in Bengaluru, which began its operations in 2015 from a small office in Koramangala. As BlackBuck expanded, it moved to the Bellandur Outer Ring Road (ORR) in 2016 to accommodate larger office spaces and better facilities. He highlighted that Bengaluru, particularly the ORR and the broader Karnataka tech-ecosystem, has been instrumental in providing the necessary resources, infrastructure, talent density, and opportunities, enabling BlackBuck to grow into a significant player making a meaningful impact on India's trucking industry.
The CEO's clarification came in the wake of an online debate sparked by his earlier post on X, where he had cited poor roads and daily commuting challenges as reasons for moving out of the Bellandur office. He specifically pointed out issues such as average commute times exceeding 1.5 hours one way for employees, roads plagued with potholes and dust, and a perceived lack of intent to rectify these problems within the next five years. This initial statement led to widespread speculation about the company's complete departure from Bengaluru.
However, Yabaji underscored that the relocation is strictly within the city, aimed at facilitating an easier commute for employees. He confirmed that a substantial portion of BlackBuck's operations will continue to be based in the ORR, and the company intends to further expand its presence within Bengaluru. Yabaji reaffirmed Bengaluru as the company's home, expressing a commitment to addressing its needs and issues with relevant government authorities.
