Black Friday Frenzy: Apple Fans Grab MacBook Air for Jaw-Dropping £17!

Apple enthusiasts are taking advantage of Black Friday deals, with the MacBook Air M2 reaching its cheapest ever price. Sky Mobile is prominently featuring this deal, offering the MacBook Air M2 for just £17 per month, down from its usual £20. This translates to approximately 56p per day when spread over Sky’s monthly plan, marking what Sky claims as its 'lowest price ever' for the device.
The MacBook Air M2, first introduced in 2022, features a 13.6-inch display, 256GB of storage, and 16GB of RAM, available in Midnight or Starlight colours. While not the latest model, it still offers robust performance. For those seeking the newest technology, Sky also provides the MacBook Air M4, which launched in March this year, for £22 per month. Both MacBook options come with a 48-month contract, with a flexible option for customers to swap to a new device after 36 months at no additional cost.
A notable aspect of the Sky Mobile deal for the MacBook Air M2 is the inclusion of a small 100MB data allowance. This allowance is likely to be insufficient for users planning to utilize the device on-the-go. However, for individuals primarily using the MacBook when connected to WiFi at home or work, this might suffice. For more extensive mobile data usage, Sky offers various upgrade options, ranging from 2GB for £1 to an unlimited plan for £25. A balanced choice is the 40GB plan for £10, available with a 12-month term.
Beyond Sky Mobile, other retailers have also launched early Black Friday promotions. Argos is offering a significant discount on the MacBook Air M2 for those preferring an outright purchase, reducing its price from £999 to £699, a saving of £300. This deal has been flagged as 'in demand'. Similarly, Amazon has the newer MacBook Air M4 on sale for £879, down from £999.
Despite being a 2022 model, the MacBook Air M2 maintains impressive specifications. It boasts a durable aluminium body that is only 1.13cm thick, contributing to its sleek and portable design. The device is equipped with a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display capable of supporting one billion colours, ensuring vibrant and sharp visuals. For communication, it includes a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and for audio, a four-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio. Other features comprise a backlit Magic Keyboard, Touch ID for secure access, and a suite of Apple Intelligence functionalities. While it ships with MacOS Sequoia, it is fully compatible with Apple’s most recent software, macOS 26 Tahoe.
Customer feedback for the MacBook Air M2 on Amazon is largely positive, with an impressive 4.7-star rating from over 1,100 reviews. Satisfied users praise its aesthetic appeal, high build quality, comfortable keyboard, and stunning screen quality. Many commend its integration within the Apple ecosystem, noting its efficiency for creative applications like Canva and CapCut, and its silent operation due to the absence of a cooling fan. However, some users have expressed challenges when transitioning from a Windows operating system to macOS, citing differences in flexibility.
