Binance's CZ Unleashes Daring $1M Bitcoin Prediction at Bitcoin Asia, Leaving Gold in the Dust
Binance founder Changpeng "CZ" Zhao predicts Bitcoin will reach $1 million sooner than expected and ultimately surpass gold's market value. Speaking at Bitcoin Asia, he warned that countries not adopting Bitcoin risk missing out, drawing parallels to AI technology. These remarks follow a recent surge in Bitcoin's price, benefiting from US Treasury liquidity operations.
Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has made bold predictions regarding Bitcoin's future, asserting that the cryptocurrency will hit $1 million dollars per coin sooner than many anticipate and will eventually surpass gold's significant market value. Speaking at this year's Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, CZ underscored his belief that this monumental price achievement will occur "much quicker" than 25 years.
CZ elaborated on Bitcoin's potential, stating that it will "for sure, become more important than gold" over the years, as large countries recognize it as a "much better asset." His remarks highlight a strong conviction in Bitcoin's long-term utility and value proposition against traditional assets.
The cryptocurrency entrepreneur also issued a warning to nation-states, declaring that Bitcoin is "dangerous" for countries that choose not to adopt it. Drawing a parallel to artificial intelligence, CZ argued, "If you think about AI, which country doesn’t want to hold the AI technology itself? Not investing in AI technology, not promoting the AI industry in your country, is dangerous for you." He extended this logic to Bitcoin, emphasizing, "Bitcoin is much more dangerous if you don’t use it: you’re missing out." He acknowledged that the shift towards nation-state adoption of Bitcoin would require time but ultimately would materialize.
These pronouncements come amidst a recent surge in Bitcoin's price, which began last week following news that the U.S. Treasury would significantly increase its liquidity-support buyback operations. This announcement negatively impacted the dollar but provided a boost to non-yielding assets such as Bitcoin and gold. Bitcoin's price jumped nearly 12% over the past seven days, reaching a high of $81,160 before settling around $80,520. Despite this impressive performance, Bitcoin's current $1.6 trillion market cap remains substantially below gold's $32.2 trillion value, indicating the scale of the predicted growth.
