Benjamin Sesko: Premier League move incoming as agents offer him to multiple sides
Manchester United’s hunt for a striker has not gone according to plan so far, but long-term target Benjamin Sesko could be back on the club’s radar after recent developments.
INEOS tried for Liam Delap, who ultimately chose Chelsea over the Red Devils. And it seems Ruben Amorim’s preferred choice, Viktor Gyokeres is on his way to Arsenal.
As a result, the Gunners seem to have moved on from the RB Leipzig hitman, whose representatives have wasted little time in trying to find their client a new home.
As per TBR Football, the 22-year-old’s agents have offered him not only to the Old Trafford side but also to the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Newcastle United.
Sesko to the Premier League
The Slovenian is also open to staying in Germany if he cannot earn a move away this summer. And Leipzig would be more than glad to keep him given he was their top scorer last season with 21 goals while he also registered six assists.
“For a long while this summer it appeared that Arsenal would sign Benjamin Sesko as Mikel Arteta’s number nine. Arsenal are set to sign Gyokeres from Sporting CP instead, leaving the door open for Liverpool and a host of other sides to make a move for Sesko.
“TBR Football understands that Sesko’s camp have now been in touch with several other potential Premier League suitors.
“Sesko’s team have been in contact with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United, keeping all four clubs abreast of the situation.
United among the clubs interested
“Whilst Sesko is disappointed to be missing out on a move to Arsenal, he is now considering his options. Remaining at RB Leipzig is not being ruled out by any means for the Slovenia international, but Sesko’s people are looking at other options too.”
The Bundesliga side were demanding close to £78 million for their No.9, and it will be intriguing to see if they reduce their demand now that an exit route has closed.
For the price being quoted, it is unlikely that INEOS will go after him. Amorim is reportedly on the hunt for a proven performer instead of relying on potential.
United’s recruitment chief Christopher Vivell is a big fan, having been part of the Red Bull family in the past, and it remains to be seen if he can work his magic regarding the deal before the window slams shut.
