The Summer League Game has taken a great peak this year. On July 13, the match took place between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks. With a 99-81 victory, the Celtics beat the Knicks, leaving the fans in distress.
Hollywood superstar as well as a guest celebrity in the famous sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S., Ben Stiller is one such fan, and his routine is a particularly stagnant one. Whenever the Knicks play, he will try his best to clear his busy schedule and be home to watch it. He’s a true Knicks fan, and so are Joey, Chandler, and Ross. But, after last night, fans are wondering if the Knicks are worth the hype. Meanwhile, Ben Stiller wrote something on X that can easily blow someone’s mind off and leave them outraged.
Ben Stiller just loves the Knicks. His very recent Twitter post shows that he has been actively attending their matches and watching them during the Summer League Game. But after the unfortunate circumstance that led to the Knicks losing to the Celtics, the actor was disappointed. The poor performance of the Knicks received a thumbs down from Ben Stiller. “I don’t know if i can invest in this Knicks summer league”, the actor wrote on X, letting the entire world know how he was dissatisfied with their performance.
Being a Knicks fan since he can remember, Ben Stiller used to attend the games with his late father. Whenever the Knicks played, Ben Stiller was their staple supporter. He had been a huge fan of the former New York Knicks' iconic player, Phil Jackson, whom he remembered having shaken his hands and exchanging smiles. For such a hardcore Knicks fan, the defeat indeed had a detrimental impact on him.
Ben Stiller’s blunt statement might have some impact on the team and its players since they were expecting a little financial assistance from their committed fan. However, Ben Stiller’s tweet created a sense of confusion among the team. The tweet seemed to be quite upsetting. The real question popping every fan’s mind is whether the Hollywood star would shift his interest from a team that has had his loyalty for so many years.
However, given his enthusiasm for the team and his continuous tweets supporting his favorite team, it is quite unlikely that he will end up abandoning the New York Knicks anytime soon Also read: Is Caitlin Clark really friends with Paige Bueckers?
