Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner seem like “newlyweds” again one decade after they called it quits, an insider exclusively tells In Touch. However, fans shouldn’t expect the exes to rekindle their romance.

“It’s no secret that Ben’s relationship with his ex is better than ever. Ben and Jen haven’t had this many laughs or been this comfortable with each other in years,” the source tells In Touch on Wednesday, March 5. “It’s like they’re newlyweds again, except it’s nothing like that. They’ve developed a true friendship.”

The insider adds, “They not only like each other again, but Jen respects and trusts him with her life. They’ve come a long way and been through a lot.”

Ben, 52, and Jennifer, 52, tied the knot in 2005, and they welcomed children , 19, Seraphina “Fin” Affleck, 16, and Samuel Affleck, 13, during their marriage. While they once seemed like one of the strongest couples in Hollywood, their romance wasn’t meant to be and they announced their separation in 2015. Ben and Jennifer eventually finalized their divorce in 2018.

Both Ben and Jennifer went on to have romances with other people following their split. The Gone Girl actor married Jennifer Lopez in 2022, and their divorce was finalized in January of this year. Meanwhile, Jennifer has been in a relationship with John Miller since 2018. The pair briefly split in 2020, though they rekindled their romance in 2021 and have been together ever since.

Despite being in a relationship with John, 47, Ben and Jennifer sparked reconciliation rumors after they were spotted getting cozy while hosting Samuel’s 13th birthday party at a paintball range on March 2.

The former couple seemed to have grown closer as Ben navigated his split from J. Lo, 55. Not only were Ben and Jennifer seen on several public outings together, but sources revealed that the 13 Going on 30 actress had been a source of support for her ex during his breakup.

In December 2024, an additional insider exclusively told In Touch that Ben would have been lost as he navigated the recent divorce without his first ex-wife.

“Ben leans on her for everything, he’s got his own place but he’s still at her house all the time for family dinners and she never fails to send him home with a care package of food,” the source shared at the time about Jennifer. “She’s very concerned about his health, to the point where she reminds him when he needs to see the doctor and the dentist and even sends him vitamins to take because she’s convinced he doesn’t get enough healthy food when she’s not cooking for him.”

Meanwhile, a third insider exclusively told In Touch that the coparents are now “incredibly close” despite having “a very difficult breakup.”

While Ben and Jennifer have spent quality time with their kids, the source said their bond “goes beyond coparenting” and that they “have a deep, meaningful friendship.”

The insider added that John has come to accept Jennifer and Ben’s friendship, and he is “less threatened by their bond.”

“John and Jen are in this for the long haul,” the source said, adding that the CaliGroup CEO “seems to like Ben.”
