and sparked reconciliation rumors after the former couple appeared to be getting cozy during their son’s birthday party. In Touch breaks down if the duo is back together and has updates on Ben and Jennifer’s relationship status.

No. While the former couple get along well and are good friends, Jennifer is still dating boyfriend as of March 2025.

However, the pair put on a sweet display at son Samuel’s 13th birthday party at a paintball range on March 2, 2025. Photos obtained by The Daily Mail showed Ben and Jennifer laughing and smiling together while the Argo star had his hand around his ex-wife’s waist in another snapshot.

“Does Ben want another chance to make a romantic relationship work with Jen? Not really,” a source exclusively told In Touch on March 5, 2025. “He credits her for never giving up on him and he’s grateful for what he and Jen have today.”

According to the insider, Jen “isn’t interested in getting back with Ben” and would rather have a “healthy, coparenting relationship.”

Yes, even though their closeness is confusing to some around the former couple.

“Speculation about Ben and Jen’s friendly relationship hasn’t gone unnoticed by them,” the insider added. “They find it amusing, but it isn’t just the talk of Hollywood. Even their kids and closest friends have wondered what the heck was going on. They do have to remind them they’re just friendly exes.”

“Ben has joked with Jen that if he had a time machine and could bring the guy he is today to his marriage to Jen back then, they’d probably still be together,” the source continued. “But there’s no use in speculating what could have been. They really get along now.”

The pair remain so friendly that Ben retreated to Jennifer’s Brentwood, California, home when he was evacuated from his mansion during the Palisades wildfire in Los Angeles on January 7, 2025. Prior to that the duo spent Thanksgiving 2024 together, volunteering to serve meals at downtown L.A.’s Midnight Mission.

No. Ben and Jennifer finalized their divorce in 2018.

The duo fell for each other after starring together in 2003’s Daredevil. Ben and Jennifer married on June 29, 2005, in an intimate beach wedding in Turks and Caicos. By then, Jennifer was already expecting the couple’s first child. The pair welcomed daughter in December 2005. Ben and Jennifer added to their family with the birth of their child, Fin, in January 2009, followed by son Samuel in February 2012.

The former couple announced their split and intention to divorce in June 2015. “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said in a joint statement. “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to coparenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”

Ben and Jennifer didn’t get around to filing for divorce until April 13, 2017.

Jen revealed her deep feelings for her then-estranged husband in a 2016 Vanity Fair cover story.

“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him,” she told the publication. “And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life.”

“We still have to help each other get through this,” she said of their split. “He’s still the only person who really knows the truth about things. And I’m still the only person that knows some of his truths.”

In March 2017, Ben revealed he had privately completed rehab for alcohol addiction, going on to thank Jennifer for her support in his announcement.

“I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront,” he wrote on Facebook. “I’m lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my coparent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery.”

Jennifer was there for Ben once again in August 2018, when she staged an intervention after he fell off the wagon. The 13 Going on 30 star was photographed driving him to a rehab center in Malibu on August 22, 2018.

Less than two months later, Ben and Jennifer finalized their divorce on October 5, 2018.

“When you have children with somebody, you’re connected to them forever,” the Gone Girl star told People in February 2020 when discussing his sobriety. “And I’m very lucky she is the mother of my children. I’m very grateful and respectful of her. Our marriage didn’t work, and that’s difficult. Both of us really believe that it’s important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they’re together or not.”
