Barcelona Submit Official Bid for Karim Adeyemi as Dortmund Weigh Transfer Offer
Barcelona have taken a major step in their summer recruitment by submitting an official offer for Karim Adeyemi, with negotiations now underway as Borussia Dortmund consider the proposal.
The German winger has already agreed personal terms with the Catalan club and has made it clear that Barcelona is his preferred destination this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano's transfer update.
Barcelona's sporting director Deco and head coach Hansi Flick have identified Adeyemi as a key addition to strengthen the club's attacking options. The 24-year-old is valued for his pace, versatility and ability to play across the front line, qualities the club believes will complement its evolving squad under Flick.
Negotiations with Borussia Dortmund remain ongoing after Barcelona's initial bid, reported to be worth €20 million, was rejected as the Bundesliga side sought improved terms. Talks have since progressed, with both clubs working towards a final agreement.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona and Dortmund have now reached an agreement in principle worth €22 million plus €7 million in performance-related add-ons, with Adeyemi expected to sign a five-year contract once he completes his medical.
Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and has developed into one of Germany's most dangerous wide forwards. His performances in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League have attracted interest from several European clubs, but the Germany international has prioritised a move to Camp Nou.
If the deal is finalised, Adeyemi would become one of Barcelona's marquee signings of the summer as the club continues rebuilding its squad for the new campaign under Hansi Flick.
