Ayurvedic Tips for Post-Vaccine Fatigue

Vaccinations, while crucial for preventing illnesses, can sometimes lead to fatigue and weakness. This "vaccine fatigue" is common, potentially lasting three to four days based on individual body types. Ayurveda provides natural solutions to restore energy and balance.

Dr. Partap Chauhan of Jiva Ayurveda recommends three Ayurvedic remedies to combat post-vaccination fatigue:

1. Ashwagandha for Energy and Stress Relief: Ashwagandha, an adaptogen, enhances resistance to stress and fatigue, boosting stamina, energy, and mental calmness. It regulates cortisol levels and improves vitality. For use, take 1–2 Jiva Ashwagandha tablets daily with food.

2. Chyawanprash to Enhance Immunity and Rebuild Ojas: Chyawanprash contains over 40 herbs, including Amla (Vitamin C), rejuvenating the immune system, repairing tissues, and replenishing ojas. It aids recovery after vaccination, especially during immune system stress. Take 1–2 teaspoons of Chyawanprash daily with warm milk.

3. Light Detox and Self-Care for Gentle Recovery: Mild detoxification can help eliminate toxins and restore balance. This includes sipping warm water, eating light meals like khichdi, and drinking ginger tea to soothe digestion and reduce inflammation. Self-abhyanga, a calming self-massage with warm Ayurvedic oil, nurtures the nervous system, enhances circulation, and promotes restorative sleep. Spend 10–15 minutes daily on self-abhyanga, followed by a warm bath.

Consult an Ayurvedic physician if fatigue persists beyond a week after vaccination, as prolonged exhaustion may indicate an underlying imbalance requiring personalized care.
