Audi’s ‘ElecTTric’ Vision: Is the Concept C the Next-Gen TT?

The Audi Concept C marks a radical departure for the esteemed German brand, signaling a completely new design direction and serving as a direct preview of a new Audi sports car slated for sale in 2027. This striking concept is not merely a design exercise; it embodies two distinct purposes: offering a collection of clues to how all new Audis will look, under the vision of new design boss Massimo Frascella’s team, and directly previewing a production-ready sports car. Speculation suggests it will share an electric platform with the much-anticipated, albeit delayed, Porsche Boxster and Cayman.
Evidently, the Concept C is remarkably close to a production model, as evidenced by its real-world details. It features standard road tyres, conventional door mirrors (eschewing cameras), proper windscreen wipers, and even a practical cut-out for a numberplate on the rear. Such pragmatic elements are rarely found on pure concept cars unless they are destined for production within a few years, reinforcing its imminent arrival.
Visually, the Concept C embraces a neat, unfussy aesthetic. The front is dominated by a shrunken, vertical 'grille' motif, subtly inspired by the 1936 Auto Union Type C racer and the 2006 Audi A6, ingeniously designed to conceal the front-facing radar.
