Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has vehemently condemned the recent killings in Southern Kaduna, attributing the tragic incident to what he describes as the Tinubu administration’s failure to adequately protect the lives and property of Nigerian citizens. He referenced reports indicating that the Trump administration allocated approximately $750,000 to evacuate a single American citizen who was stranded abroad following potential exposure to hantavirus. Abubakar firmly maintained that the people of Nigeria are not interested in receiving international commendations but rather in having a government truly capable of guaranteeing their safety and security. He articulated that the people of Southern Kaduna, and indeed all Nigerians, do not require letters of praise from foreign capitals; they demand security, the ability to sleep without fear, travel without anxiety, cultivate their farms in peace, and raise their children free from the constant menace of terrorists, bandits, and other violent criminals.

Abubakar adamantly insisted that the effectiveness of governance should be measured primarily by the government’s ability to safeguard its citizens, rather than by public relations efforts or diplomatic endorsements.
