Ashley Tisdale's Daughter Loves 'High School Musical'
It seems that actress Ashley Tisdale has truly never had someone who knows her the way her 4-year-old does.
The beloved former Disney star recently shared that her daughter Jupiter has taken an interest in the High School Musical movies and in Tisdale's iconic character.
In a hilarious TikTok, Tisdale reveals her daughter can't stop singing the songs from the films and is especially obsessed with her mom's role, a fabulous and determined musical theatre diva named Sharpay Evans.
It all began after Jupiter watched Tisdale's niece play the role of Sharpay Evans in a stage adaptation of the film and suddenly became enthralled with the character and the movies.
"When she's seen the movie in the past, like, she never really cared about it, but I think seeing my niece in the play, play me, has just changed her, so she had to watch all three movies," she says in the video.
The preschooler has even decided which film is her favorite. Spoiler: It's High School Musical 2.
"When I'm on walks with her, she asks for me to play it, when I'm in the car, she asks for me to play it," Tisdale shares with the sound of High School Musical 2 softly humming in the background.
It's not enough that Tisdale has to relive her High School Musical days with her daughter, but Jupiter has even decided that her favorite song from the film is 'HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A,' which just so happens to be Tisdale's least favorite. "I hate that song," she jokes.
But the best part about Jupiter's rediscovery of High School Musical has to be her newfound catchphrase: "I'm Sharpay's baby!"
"She screams out in public, 'I'm Sharpay's baby!' Like I can't. I just feel so embarrassed when I'm walking into a store, and she's like, 'We're all in this,' And I'm like, 'Oh, my God,' " Tisdale says in the video.
Fans flooded the comments to show their support for little Jupiter, "I don’t blame her. She realized her mom is THAT GIRL, I’d be obsessed too," wrote one commenter.
Another fan wrote, "There is NOTHING. NOTHING. More iconic than screaming 'I am Sharpay’s baby'"
Still, Tisdale says she's grown tired of hearing the movies play nonstop in her home, even if she finds it really sweet. And who can blame her? I'm sure hearing your 20-year-old self sing over and over again isn't the most ideal experience.
But as a former fan of High School Musical myself, I can't help but feel a bit of nostalgia knowing her toddler loves Sharpay Evans just as much as we all did growing up.
And of course, fans are fantasizing about a future reboot with little Jupiter cast as a young Sharpay, or Sharpay's baby, or Sharpay's grown-up child who's come to bring musical theatre back to life—the kinks aren't really worked through yet.
Either way, the fans seem ready for a High School Musical 4 after Jupiter's pleasant reminder that we really are all in this together.
