Arsenal Set to Secure Bukayo Saka on Long-Term Deal

Arsenal Football Club has reportedly reached the framework of a new long-term contract with star winger Bukayo Saka, signaling the club’s intent to retain one of its most influential players. Sources familiar with the negotiations suggest that both parties have been confident for several months that the 24-year-old would commit his future to the club, with a positive conclusion now appearing imminent. While the agreement is yet to be officially finalized, Saka is expected to sign a five-year deal, which could make him one of Arsenal’s highest earners, potentially on par with or surpassing Kai Havertz’s reported £280,000-a-week salary.
The move aligns with Arsenal’s broader strategy of securing their key talents, following long-term contract extensions for players such as William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly. By locking in core members, the Gunners aim to maintain squad stability as they chase domestic and European success.
A product of Arsenal’s Hale End academy, Saka has emerged as a cornerstone of the first team since his debut in 2018. Over the current season, he has already contributed seven goals and six assists in 27 appearances. Previous campaigns underscore his consistent influence, including a standout 2023–24 season where he assumed a captaincy role and finished as the club’s top scorer with 20 goals.
Manager Mikel Arteta has repeatedly emphasized Saka’s importance to the squad. “From everything that I know, he’s extremely happy and proud to be here,” Arteta said. “Everyone knows how important Bukayo is for us, so hopefully we can get this done.”
Arsenal’s timing comes amid a strong period of form. The club sits six points clear atop the Premier League and maintains a perfect record in the Champions League, highlighting the value of retaining pivotal players like Saka. Following the completion of Saka’s contract, attention is expected to turn to securing the future of midfielder Declan Rice, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal, with an option for an additional year.
