The Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, and the Borno State Police Command have pledged renewed cooperation in the fight against terrorism, kidnapping, and criminal gangs across the state.
The commitment followed a courtesy visit on June 19 to Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, by Borno State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid. He met with the Theatre Commander of OPHK, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, and the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu.
Abdulmajid, the 43rd Commissioner of Police in Borno, expressed appreciation for the military’s efforts in securing lives and property. He emphasized the need for sustained joint operations.
He said: “The collaborative efforts of the military, police, and other security agencies could bring an end to the 16-year Boko Haram insurgency in Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region.”
In response, Major General Abubakar offered OPHK’s full support and reaffirmed the military’s commitment to strengthening inter-agency synergy against terrorism, kidnapping, and other threats.
