Ariana Grande Ignites Change With Major New Foundation For LGBTQ+ & Mental Health
Ariana Grande has launched her new "Brighter Days Ahead Foundation" to support critical causes such as LGBTQ+ rights, mental health, and civil rights. The foundation operates through four dedicated funds, amplifying her long-standing commitment to social advocacy and providing much-needed resources to vulnerable communities.
Pop star and actress Ariana Grande has announced the launch of her new charitable endeavor, the "Brighter Days Ahead Foundation," aimed at supporting crucial causes including LGBTQ+ and trans rights, mental health services, and more. Grande revealed the foundation on Friday, June 12, expressing her excitement and stating its mission is "to support, protect, and provide resources for our vulnerable friends in need."
The foundation operates through four distinct funds, each dedicated to a specific area of support. The first, the Protect & Defend Fund, focuses on empowering grassroots groups that advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, civil rights, and reproductive justice. This fund aims to foster communities where individuals feel safe, supported, and have access to essential care and resources.
Next, the Heal & Dream Fund is designed to expand access to vital mental health care and community support. Its objective is to help people feel seen, understood, and equipped to heal, addressing the critical need for mental well-being services.
The third fund, the Seen & Celebrated Fund, is dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories within the LGBTQ+ community. This fund supports various grantees, including the Gender Liberation Movement, Glisten Rainbow Library, SAGE USA, TransLash, and Transanta, ensuring that diverse perspectives are highlighted and celebrated.
Finally, the Emergency Support Fund provides situational responses to urgent needs as they arise. Recent beneficiaries of this fund have included Humanity Crew, New York Cares, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Save the Children UK, This Is About Humanity, and Troop 6000, demonstrating its wide-ranging humanitarian efforts. A comprehensive list of all organizations supported by the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation is available on its official website.
Grande shared her personal connection to these causes, noting, "It has been my privilege to be able to support these causes on my own over the years. I’m grateful to now be able to expand that reach and amplify the life-saving work that these organizations do through the brighter days ahead foundation." This new initiative aligns with the Oscar-nominated "Wicked" actress's long-standing public advocacy, particularly for LGBTQ+ rights, which she has consistently championed. She has also been vocal about encouraging voting and criticizing political administrations, notably condemning the DHS for using her music in a TikTok promoting ICE.
This philanthropic announcement comes amidst a busy period for the Grammy winner, who recently kicked off her "Eternal Sunshine Tour" in support of her 2024 album, "Eternal Sunshine," which achieved three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Additionally, Grande is preparing to release her new album, "Petal," in July, following the success of her Billboard Hot 100-topping lead single, "Hate That I Made You Love Me," which dropped in late May.
