Sol’s owner Cameron Carlotti plans to have customers sipping beers, rolling skeeballs, playing air hockey, shooting hoops, pirates and targets, and playing other arcade games in Fayetteville’s newest arcade bar in July.

🏅 Making their steady rise in the ranks, Detour Slam Team, the slam poetry team led by Fayetteville local LeJuane “El’Ja” Bowens, won 4th place at the 33rd Annual Southern Fried Poetry Festival, according to a press release by Bowens. The festival took place June 11–14 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and is open to slam poetry teams across the country.

The team had previously ranked 11th in the region in 2019, then 6th in the nation last year. Read about Bowens and the origins of Detour Slam Team in our article from CityView‘s October 2024 “Arts & Culture” magazine.
