APC NWC Plunges into Cross Rivers Crisis, Backs Embattled Party Chair

Eba has been summoned to Abuja to address the vote of no confidence amid accusations of financial misconduct and political motivations. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State is currently embroiled in a significant crisis, escalating with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) overturning what it deemed an unconstitutional move by the State Executive Committee (SEC) members. The SEC had attempted to remove the state chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba. In response, the APC National Legal Adviser, Murtala Aliyu Kankia, issued a letter dated December 4, 2025, summoning Eba to appear before the national leadership in Abuja on Monday, December 8. This meeting is intended to allow the NWC to hear directly from the embattled chairman and ensure that due process is rigorously followed in addressing the vote of no confidence passed by the SEC.
