APC Clarifies Candidate List: No Official Release Yet, Urges Patience

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued an official disclaimer regarding the purported release of successful candidates from its recently concluded party primaries. In a statement, Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, strongly advised the public to disregard any publication or report claiming to announce the outcomes of these primaries, categorizing such information as false and unauthorized. The party emphasized that successful candidates would be formally notified through its official communication channels, following which Certificates of Return would be issued in strict adherence to established procedures. The ruling party urged all its members, stakeholders, and the general public to place their trust solely in official communications originating from the party itself.

Meanwhile, the APC also announced with deep sorrow the passing of Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, the esteemed mother of its National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, at the age of 92. In a separate statement released on Sunday, also by Felix Morka, the party extended its profound condolences to Senator Basiru and the entire Basiru family during this difficult time. The ruling party eulogized the deceased as a devout Muslim, a woman embodying virtue and compassion, a loving mother, and a revered matriarch within her family. She was celebrated for living a life characterized by unwavering faith, significant sacrifice, and selfless service to others.

The APC further highlighted that Alhaja Basiru nurtured a family founded on strong values of character, discipline, and the fear of Almighty Allah. Her legacy, the party stated, will undoubtedly remain evergreen in the hearts and minds of her children and all those who were privileged to experience her love and generosity. The party specifically noted that Alhaja Basiru’s wisdom, exemplary character, strong moral values, and deep religious piety are visibly reflected in the life and remarkable public service record of their National Secretary, among her other accomplished children whom she raised with immense love and devotion. On behalf of the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the National Working Committee, Party leaders, members, and supporters, the APC reiterated its deepest condolences to Senator Basiru and his family, concluding with a prayer that Almighty Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgives her shortcomings, accepts her righteous deeds, and grants her an eternal abode in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
