Anthony Edwards and Chris Brown face legal battles

NBA star Anthony Edwards has requested a judge to sanction his ex, Ayesha Howard, for what he describes as "manipulative and unjustifiable conduct" in their child support case. This development follows Ayesha's plea to the court to reconsider its decision that child support would not be determined in California. Anthony, 23, argues that the court previously established he has no significant ties to California and that the act of conception did not occur there.

Anthony's legal team asserts that Ayesha, 37, has failed to provide substantial evidence linking her to California, such as proof of utility payments, rental agreements, or property leases. Instead, they claim her connection to the state is solely based on an attempt to manipulate the legal system to secure a California child support order. They further allege that Ayesha deliberately planned to conceive a child with Anthony for financial gain, pointing to her ovulation tracking as evidence of a pre-planned scheme.

According to Anthony’s lawyer, Ayesha is attempting to get a second chance after being unhappy with the court’s initial outcome. He stated that she has disregarded the court’s requirements while submitting documents that contradict her position. Anthony specifically mentioned Ayesha's submission of her ovulation tracker as evidence, arguing that it does not establish jurisdiction but instead suggests a calculated plan to conceive a child with him. He has requested that Ayesha be sanctioned for her actions.

Ayesha previously stated that her daughter, Aubri, deserves a future based on honesty and integrity. A DNA test in December 2024 confirmed Anthony as the father of Aubri Summer Howard, who was born in October 2024. Anthony initiated a paternity and child support case in Georgia, where he claimed Ayesha and he both resided. Ayesha filed a separate case in California, asserting she had moved there before Aubri's birth. Anthony has accused Ayesha of filing her case in Los Angeles to obtain a higher child support award and alleged she worked at an Atlanta strip club until she became pregnant, claims she denies. The judge sided with Anthony, determining that child support would not be set in California.

In response, Ayesha submitted evidence to support her position, claiming Anthony and his legal team misrepresented his connections and made false statements about her to discredit her character. She refuted claims that she worked at Magic City in Atlanta until 2024, providing documentation from the Atlanta Police Department showing her business license with the establishment expired in 2018. She also submitted alleged texts from Anthony after informing him of her pregnancy, including a text where he allegedly suggested she get an abortion.

Anthony has stated he does not seek custody or visitation of Aubri, focusing solely on the financial aspects of the case. Child support for Aubri has yet to be determined by a judge.

In a separate legal matter, Chris Brown has submitted evidence in his defense against a $90 million lawsuit filed by his former housekeeper, Maria Avila, who alleges she was disfigured in a dog attack. Chris, 35, is contesting Maria's attempt to gain information about his finances before the trial.

Maria claims that while working at Chris' home in Los Angeles in December 2020, a large Caucasian Ovcharka shepherd dog named Hades attacked her, causing severe injuries to her face and arms. She accuses Chris of failing to provide assistance immediately after the alleged attack, which he denies. Chris' lawyer argues that Maria's injuries were a result of her own misconduct, claiming she provoked the dog by teasing, abusing, or mistreating it.

Chris revealed that Maria claimed in her lawsuit that he did nothing to help her but stated that Maria reported that he and a security guard responded to her screams, called the paramedics, and removed the dog. He also argued he had no knowledge that Hades posed any sort of threat. Chris also presented information indicating that Hades had never shown signs of aggression and was always playful and gentle. Emil Lewis, a member of Chris’ security team, said he told Maria and her sister not to leave the house unattended because the dogs were unfamiliar with them and could be scared. Chris’ legal team argues that Maria blatantly disobeyed instructions by going outside unattended, leading to the incident.

Chris is requesting the court to deny Maria's attempt to obtain information about his finances before the trial, arguing that her claims are exaggerated and false, failing to meet the standard required for punitive damages. A judge has yet to rule on this matter.
