Angolan Presidential Couple Attend Dinner Hosted by the King of Spain
Seville: Angolan President and African Union (AU) chairperson, Joo Lourenço, and the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, were among the guests of honor at the official dinner hosted tonight by the Kings of Spain, Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, in Seville. The event was a prelude to the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, organized by the United Nations, which gathers global leaders in this southern Spanish city to deliberate on financial strategies addressing global development challenges.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Royal reception was attended by nearly thirty Heads of State and Government, including eleven African Presidents. The high-level meeting aims to reform the international financial architecture, promote economic fairness, and strengthen cooperation between the global North and South.
President Joo Lourenço, serving as the pro tempore leader of the African Union, is set to address the opening session of the conference on behalf of African countries. He will highligh
t the continent’s primary concerns in financing for development, focusing on resource mobilization, infrastructure investment, and global economic justice.
