Andy Robertson talks Liverpool transfer future as Scotland skipper reveals his immediate focus - Football Scotland
Andy Robertson has spoken to Liverpool about his future as he revealed his immediate focus.
The Scotland skipper was part of the June double-header for the national team which saw Steve Clarke's men go down to a disappointing home defeat at Hampden by Iceland before dumping minnows Liechtenstein on the road to finish up on a positive.
It's been a hectic season for the left-back who tasted English Premier League glory for his club side.
His future is a bit less certain as he enters the final 12 months of his current deal at Anfield.
Arne Slot has brought in former Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen as Trent Alexander-Arnold moves on to Real Madrid while Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez is high on the list to bring in on the left side.
The Reds are set to splash the cash with a mega money move for Florian Wirtz happening as well.
Star duo Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk eventually put pen to paper to remain at Liverpool beyond this summer and while he still has a year to go, Robbo admits he is 'not sure' what the future holds after 'good discussions' with club chiefs.
Robertson - speaking at his AR26 Charity Day on Sky Sports - explained: “We have discussed [my future], of course we have. We’ve had good discussions, me and the club, but what the future holds, I’m not sure.
“All I know is I fly off on holiday and it’s well needed.
"I need a rest after a long season, and then I look forward to pre-season. That’s all my focus is.
“I can’t look too far ahead, I never have done that so I’m not going to start doing that now.
"I know the position I’m in, I know I’ve only got a year left.
"A lot’s getting spoken about it, a lot’s getting said, but my pure focus is focussing on being a dad for the next couple of weeks and enjoying that time with the kids.
"Then I’ll try and come back in the best shape possible for pre-season, and then we’ll see what the future holds when those decisions come.”
