Andy Cohen Playfully Reveals Hoda Kotb's 'Gentlemen Callers'

Television anchor Hoda Kotb is embarking on a vibrant new chapter in her life, a transformation keenly observed and celebrated by her friends. During a surprise appearance on the November 25 episode of TODAY With Jenna & Friends, the 61-year-old delighted host Jenna Bush Hager. The reunion took an amusing turn when Andy Cohen playfully probed into Kotb's single life, a topic she has openly embraced since her engagement ended.
Kotb proudly shared her newfound joy in hosting social gatherings at her home, particularly for her daughters, Haley, 8, and Hope, 6. With a mix of surprise and delight, she exclaimed, "This is at my house! I’m having people over! I’m hosting parties!" This revelation prompted Andy Cohen to immediately inquire, "Are you hosting gentleman callers?" a question that visibly astonished Kotb. Jenna Bush Hager chimed in with assurance, "I’m sure there are," while Cohen continued his jest, suggesting scenarios like "Uncle Tony’s here" and a request for a specific drink.
Once the laughter subsided, Kotb reversed the roles, asking Cohen about his own experiences navigating dating as a single parent. Cohen admitted he wasn't actively "hitting the town," a sentiment echoed by Kotb. She candidly remarked on the challenges, stating, "It’s hard. It’s confusing, and it’s hard… but you find a way. I have gone out a little bit. Not on dates yet." Ever the provocateur, Cohen advised her to "roll up in guys’ DMs" with a "strategic flame emoji," an idea enthusiastically supported by Jenna Bush Hager.
Kotb has been transparent about rebuilding her personal life following the end of her eight-year engagement to Joel Schiffman in 2022. The former couple, who share their two daughters, remains dedicated co-parents. Kotb explained at the time, "Joel and I have had a lot of prayerful and meaningful conversations over the holidays and we decided that we are better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple. It’s not like something happened… This was for a season."
Prior to her relationship with Schiffman, Kotb was married to tennis coach Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2008. She later reflected on this marriage in her memoir, "Jump and Find Joy," admitting she felt pressured into it: "We let the idea that we should be married by now influence us. I didn’t jump into marriage as much as I slipped into it." Currently, Kotb is deliberately taking her time, enjoying her role as a host, and leaving the door potentially ajar for the "gentlemen callers" that Andy Cohen so humorously envisions.
