AMC Lincoln Square Closed Due to Flooding From Intense New York City Storm - IMDb
One of AMC’s most popular Manhattan locations temporarily closed after heavy rains in the city caused flooding in its Lincoln Square theater. A spokesperson for the theater chain said the downpour on Monday night caused damage to a “roof pipe.” That meant that a “significant amount of water” came into a portion of the lower levels of the building. AMC Lincoln Square, which includes one of the city’s most popular Imax auditoriums, reopened on Tuesday.
“Impacted auditoriums and other affected areas of the theatre will remain closed as remediation work is underway,” AMC said in a statement. “Refunds will be issued automatically for tickets purchased to affected showtimes.”
Footage of the flooding and audiences evacuating the theater was widely shared on TikTok and other social media platforms. One video depicted water from the ceiling drenching the lobby, as well as the candy counter of a concessions stand.
