Emotions ran high as the family and villagers prepared to lay the father of one to rest in his village home.

A woman who had requested an interview could barely speak as she bitterly mourned the blogger.

The short-statured woman, Emma Akinyi, was in tears as she recounted the promises Ojwang had made to her before his premature death.

The interviewer, who squatted to speak to the grieving woman, ended up consoling her in the process.

She wrapped her left arm around the heartbroken woman as she comforted her during the emotional moment.

Akinyi cried as she spoke in her local dialect, looking up as tears flowed freely down her cheeks.

"Albert promised to take me to Nairobi to see Raila Amolo Odinga, but unfortunately, the promise keeper is now deceased," read the translation.

In the background, a tent filled with mourners could be seen, quietly sitting as they patiently waited for the burial proceedings to begin.

Akinyi recalled how she first met Albert and the promises he had made to her, but she was devastated that they would never be fulfilled.

Many sympathised with her as they saw the love she had for Albert and prayed that all would be well with her.

In another incident, a video emerged showing mourners chasing away police officers who were escorting Albert's body.

Thousands of youths who accompanied the lifeless body of the teacher barricaded the Mawego Police Station.

This was the station where Albert, a father of one, was first detained before being transferred to Nairobi county.

The angry mourners set the police station on fire as the officers watched helplessly from a distance.

A police Toyota Land Cruiser, which was part of the funeral convoy, had its headlights on as it moved.

However, instead of allowing the vehicle to proceed with the rest of the procession, the youths blocked it.
