Akzo Nobel India Shakes Up Leadership: Parth Jindal Takes Chairman Role

Akzo Nobel India Ltd, a leading paints manufacturer, has announced the immediate appointment of Parth Jindal as its new Chairman, subject to shareholder approval. The decision was ratified by the company’s board of directors during a meeting held on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Parth Jindal brings extensive industry experience, currently serving as Managing Director of both JSW Paints Ltd and JSW Cements Ltd. His appointment follows JSW Paints’ strategic acquisition of a majority stake in Akzo Nobel India last year through a ₹12,915-crore deal, establishing JSW as the company’s promoter.

In related leadership changes, Rajiv Rajgopal, formerly Chairman and Managing Director, will transition to the role of Joint Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, effective January 9, 2026, with all other terms of his appointment remaining unchanged.

The board also approved the appointment of Shantanu Maharaj Khosla as an independent additional director for a three-year term, ending January 8, 2029, pending shareholder consent.

These changes mark a significant restructuring at Akzo Nobel India, reflecting the company’s ongoing strategic alignment under new leadership.
