AITEC World set to reposition Africa as central player in global tourism, economic development

President of the Africa-International Tourism and Economic Council (AITEC World) and Consortium Touristes par Milliers (CTM), Mouinou Dine Bouraima has disclosed that the council is poised to reposition Africa as central player in global tourism and economic development.

Speaking during a visit to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Benin, Babalola Jean Abimbola, Bouraima presented the vision and strategy of this new African and international organisation soon to be officially launched.

Bouraima, a private sector actor in the tourism industry, said the organisation would operate under the slogan, “Linking Africa to the World and the World to Africa.”

He added the organisation is composed of committed private actors from several African and global countries.

The President of AITEC World presented key aspects of the project and extended an invitation to the minister to attend as a guest of honour to the official multi-city launch ceremonies scheduled to take place in Abuja on August 14, 2025, Addis Ababa from November 5 to 8, 2025, during Africa Celebrates 2025, and London November 4 to 6, 2026 on the sidelines of the World Travel Market (WTM).

Welcoming this hopeful and forward-looking initiative, Abimbola offered insightful advice on good governance and effective development strategy. He emphasised the importance of rigourous and inclusive management to ensure the success of this ambitious project, designed to serve Africa and the world.
