Air Premia Partners with Amazon Air Cargo to Boost U.S. Cargo Network

Published 1 day ago2 minute read

Air Premia, South Korea’s leading hybrid airline, has taken a step in expanding its footprint in the global air cargo market by signing an interline agreement with Amazon Air Cargo, the largest cargo carrier in the United States.

This strategic partnership, announced recently, enhances Air Premia’s ability to deliver efficient and cost-effective cargo services across the Americas. The move also solidifies the South Korean carrier’s position as a key player in trans-Pacific logistics.

Under this agreement, Air Premia operates cargo flights on the Incheon–Honolulu route, while Amazon Air Cargo manages onward distribution from Honolulu to 45 U.S. cities, including major hubs like Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Houston, and New York (JFK).

Branded as the “Aloha Express,” this service officially launched on July 9, 2025, and is designed to streamline cargo transport between Asia and the U.S. mainland.

By leveraging Honolulu as a trans-Pacific logistics hub, the partnership reduces delivery times and logistical costs by up to 20% compared to traditional direct routes, offering faster and more affordable shipping solutions.

Air Premia utilizes its proprietary Valley Cargo service for the Incheon–Honolulu leg. This capitalizes on its modern fleet and operational expertise.

Amazon Air’s expansive domestic network then ensures seamless final-mile delivery across the U.S. This complements Air Premia’s existing cargo operations out of Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), and San Francisco (SFO).

This collaboration significantly broadens the carrier’s reach, enabling it to cater to diverse logistics demands. This includes global e-commerce, corporate freight, and third-country transshipments.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone for Air Premia,” said a company spokesperson. “We’re combining our robust Asia–U.S. routes with Amazon Air’s extensive network. We’re enhancing our competitiveness in the global logistics market and delivering greater value to our customers.”

Air Premia has also made strides in specialized cargo transport. In April 2025, it became the only South Korean airline, aside from the nation’s two flag carriers, to handle pharmaceutical shipments. The achievement highlights its expertise in logistics involving high-value cargo.

This achievement underscores the South Korean airline’s commitment to diversifying its cargo offerings and strengthening its presence in the premium logistics sector.

With this partnership, Air Premia is well-positioned to meet the growing demands of global commerce. It offers innovative solutions that combine efficiency, reliability, and cost savings.

The “Aloha Express” service is a testament to the airline’s vision of redefining trans-Pacific cargo transport.
