Lucy Guo, an early entrant into the artificial intelligence industry and co-founder of software provider Scale AI, achieved billionaire status by the age of 30. Having departed Scale AI in 2018, an exit that followed a falling out with co-founder Alexandr Wang but secured her fortune, Guo, a Carnegie Mellon University dropout and Thiel Fellowship recipient, has now embarked on a new venture: Passes Inc. Launched in December 2022 with $50 million in funding, Passes is a platform designed to help celebrities and social media influencers transform their fame into fortune by fostering direct connections with their fan bases.

Guo's inspiration for Passes stemmed from observing influencer friends struggle with the inconsistent income of one-off brand endorsement deals. Many were turning to subscription platforms like Patreon for more stable, regular monthly payouts. Recognizing this need, Guo quickly raised initial funding by texting investors, articulating her vision for
