Agyemang Badu slams Justice Blay for explosive allegations after Kotoko exit - MyJoyOnline
Former Ghana international, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has strongly criticised Justice Blay for his recent explosive allegations against Asante Kotoko, branding the outburst as uncalled for and disappointing.
Blay, who signed for the Porcupine Warriors in 2022, was released by the club in June after being deemed surplus to requirements for the upcoming season.
In a recent interview on Pure FM, the midfielder accused some Kotoko players of inappropriate conduct, including engaging in alcoholism during camp and snatching teammates' girlfriends – claims that have stirred backlash among fans and stakeholders.
Reacting to the comments on Luv FM’s Sports Blitz Xtra, Agyemang Badu described the remarks as unfortunate, particularly coming from a player who once held a leadership role and enjoyed strong support from the Kotoko faithful.
“When they level all allegations against you, you want to come out and just defend yourself. But he has to know he is a leader. It didn't happen yesterday. And you were able to keep it calm until now. When you are leaving, you want to just mess up all the good things you have done for Kotoko.
Agyemang Badu described Blay’s outburst as unnecessary.
“I understand his emotions. Maybe they have levelled a lot against him. When you want to defend, you cause unnecessary attention to yourself. So it is just unfortunate and unnecessary,” he said.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Safo Duku, has revealed that investigations into the matter are currently ongoing, and an official statement could be released in due course.
