Former Hearts of Oak striker, Afriyie Barnieh
Former Accra Hearts of Oak striker, Afriyie Barnieh, has signed a two-year contract with Swiss second-tier side, FC Aarau, after terminating his contract with FC Zurich.
Barnieh terminated his contract with FC Zurich after a difficult spell, where he scored just two goals in all competitions over three seasons.
The 24-year-old joined the Swiss top flight from Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak in 2022.
The two-year deal signalled confidence in his ability to make an impact and help the club achieve its ambitions in the league.
The forward first rose to prominence in Ghana with Accra Hearts of Oak.
He also captained the Ghana U-20 team to victory at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
