Africa leather sector makes bold moves

Africa’s leather industry was the focus at the eighth Lagos Leather Fair (LLF 2025), at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island.
The two-day event: “Designing for Tomorrow,” is a defining moment in the evolution of the continent’s leather sector.
Top designers, artisans, investors, and policymakers affirmed its status as the region’s largest leather exhibition.
Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment gave a goodwill message on behalf of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He said: “Our administration remains unwavering in its commitment to transforming the industry through innovation, sustainable practice, and economic diversification
“We will support initiatives like LLF that empower entrepreneurs, promote local firms, and position Lagos as a hub of creativity and industry.”
The event opened with a workshop: “Mastering the Art of Winning Grants” led by Olugbenga Ogunbowale.
