ADC vows to unseat Tinubu with 35 million votes in 2027

The chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralphs Okey Nwosu, has vowed to unseat Nigerian President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential Election with 35 million votes.

Nwosu made this declaration at the opening of a national summit and party leadership meeting held in Abuja.

“For the first time, we will deliver a president with over 30 million votes. Our national youth team has assured me. Civil society groups that joined us only six months ago now have over 5 million members. Together, we will make history,” said Nwosu.

The chairman knocked the federal government for allocating lump sums to projects he described as irrelevant projects and legislative luxuries.

Nwosu further noted that the party is mobilising groups and people to active their target in the 2027 polls.

“Imagine a government that says it cannot fund the Olympics but can spend over N100 billion to furnish the National Assembly. It’s a shame that the country’s most productive demographic is being ignored,” he added.

The founder of MITCH Open University, Damaturu, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Jawa, who was also present at the event, lauded the political party for their 35 million votes.

“While others are wailing over 9 million, ADC is aiming higher. That’s how politics should be,” he said.

During the 2023 Presidential Election, the ADC did not amass enough votes to be considered in the league of Tinubu, Abubakar Atiku of PDP, Peter Obi of Labour Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of NNPP, the four candidates who amassed the top votes in the election.
