Adamawa APC Elects New Leadership Amidst Fintiri's Stirring Address

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) successfully concluded its state congress on Saturday, electing new executives through a consensus model. Ambassador Baba Gana Ajimi, Chairman of the state Congress, presided over the event at the Mahmud Ribadu square. The former state executive council was dissolved following a motion moved by Hon. Kate Raymond Mamunu, seconded by Hon Suleiman Ahmed Gangkuba. Senator Grace Bent then moved the motion for the congress to proceed by consensus, as per the party's constitution, seconded by Hon. Sunday Peter, with delegates confirming this via voice vote.

Ambassador Ajimi announced the new leadership team, including Hamza Bello Madagali as the state chairman, Dr. Raymond Chindama as Vice Chairman, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu as Secretary, Bature Moses as Assistant Secretary, Victor Dogo as Publicity Secretary, and Dedan Raymond as Youth leader, among others.

Speaking at the event, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri described the congress as historic and unprecedented, signaling a crucial political evolution for the APC in Adamawa. He highlighted the seamless transition from the alignment of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members to a “full political fusion,” establishing a united and strong APC in the state. Governor Fintiri attributed this rapid party growth to the culture of openness, compromise, and political maturity demonstrated by all stakeholders. He asserted his position as the leader of the APC in Adamawa State.

The Governor emphasized that such political integration necessitates sacrifice and compromise, assuring that despite individual concessions, “no one is a loser” in the overall process. He commended President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Working Committee, and stakeholders from both APC and former PDP members for their contributions. Fintiri also warned against political opportunists who seek imposition rather than fair competition.

Governor Fintiri charged the newly elected party executives to uphold fairness, accountability, and to focus diligently on winning elections at all levels. He further pledged to deliver Adamawa State to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections, underscoring the party's commitment to sustained electoral success.

To solidify the party's grassroots presence, Governor Fintiri announced the creation of the “Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement” (ARH226M). This new political platform is designed as a statewide grassroots mobilization structure, covering all 226 wards of the state. He directed all existing APC and pro-Tinubu support groups to merge into this new movement, emphasizing that true political relevance is measured by grassroots mobilization at the ward level. Fintiri portrayed ARH226M as a strong, fast-moving force capable of achieving total electoral victory.

Concluding his address, Governor Fintiri congratulated the newly elected party executives, stressing that the successful congress marked the beginning of the “real political work” needed to ensure the party's continued dominance and success in Adamawa State.
