Acer and HP Launch New AI-Powered PCs

At Computex 2025, HP and Acer both launched new artificial intelligence (AI) PCs. HP introduced the OmniBook 5 series, while Acer unveiled its Swift Go 14 AI, Swift Go 16 AI, and Swift Edge 14 AI laptops, all featuring Copilot+ capabilities.

The HP OmniBook 5 series includes 14-inch and 16-inch models powered by Snapdragon X and Snapdragon X Plus processors, with a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) delivering up to 45 tera operations per second (TOPS). These PCs support single 5K or dual 4K external displays, feature a 1080p infrared (IR) camera, and include HP Fast Charge technology. The HP OmniBook 5 14 starts at $799, and the HP OmniBook 5 16 starts at $849. Both models will be available in Glacier Silver starting in July, with early availability for the HP OmniBook 5 14 in June via Amazon and Micro Center. Key features include Copilot+ capabilities, AI-powered tools like Recall and Click-to-Do, and a built-in HP AI Companion for document analysis and performance optimization. They have 2K OLED screens, up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, two USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. They also have HP Audio Boost 2.0 and a 59Wh battery.

Acer's new laptops include the Swift Go 14 AI, Swift Go 16 AI, and Swift Edge 14 AI, powered by up to Intel Core Ultra 9 processors. The Swift Go 16 AI and Swift Go 14 AI are thin-and-light laptops with an improved Acer Multi-Control Touchpad. The Swift Edge 14 AI features a 14-inch 3K OLED display with Corning Gorilla Matte Pro surface treatment. The Acer Swift Edge 14 AI starts at EUR 1,599 and will be available in Pearl White in June. The Swift Go 16 AI (Titanium Grey) and Swift Go 14 AI (Steam Blue) are priced at EUR 1,299 and EUR 1,199, respectively, with availability starting in August and July. All new Acer Swift models come with a dedicated Copilot+ hotkey. The Acer Swift Go 14 AI has a 14-inch WUXGA OLED screen, while the Swift Go 16 AI has a 16-inch 2K WUXGA+ display. They offer up to Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, Intel Arc Graphics 140V, up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, and an HDMI port. The Acer Swift Edge 14 AI features a 14-inch 3K OLED screen, up to Intel Core Ultra 9 288V chipset with Intel AI Boost, and a Magnesium-Aluminum chassis. It also includes a Microsoft Pluto crypto-processor for enhanced security.

Both HP and Acer's new AI PCs come with features like Recall and Click-to-Do, improvements to Windows Search and Cocreator in Paint, and dedicated Copilot+ keys, enhancing their AI capabilities.
