Accra Electrified: Shatta Wale's Birthday Concert Draws Massive Crowd, Shuts Down City

Accra’s Black Star Square was transformed into a pulsating hub of music and excitement on Saturday, October 18, 2025, as tens of thousands of fans gathered for "Shatta Fest 2025 x Shattabration: The King Calls." This record-breaking, free concert celebrated the birthday of Ghana’s self-proclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, whose birthday fell on October 17th. The monumental event served as his personal gesture of gratitude to the dedicated fan base that has supported his illustrious career.
Long before the official 4:00 p.m. start time, fans began trooping into the venue as early as midday. By dusk, the entire Black Star Square and its surrounding streets were jam-packed, creating a vibrant sea of white-clad supporters eager to witness the spectacle. The atmosphere remained electric throughout the night, fueled by a stellar lineup of top-tier artists.
The festival featured an impressive roster of performers, including industry giants like Sarkodie, Samini, Wendy Shay, and Medikal, alongside other talented acts such as Kelvynboy, Amerado, DarkoVibes, Tinny, JZyNo, Kwame Yogot, and DopeNation. Each artist delivered electrifying and energetic performances, keeping the crowd engaged and the energy levels high until the early hours of Sunday morning, when the concert finally wrapped up around 7:05 a.m.

He presented Tinny with a citation, expressing profound appreciation for his support during Shatta Wale’s formative years in the music industry. In a display of diplomacy, the "Ayoo" hitmaker also successfully mediated a brief reconciliation on stage between Nigerian influencers Peller and Big Jiggy, bringing them together to shake hands.
