Crystal Palace were relegated to the Conference League after failing to comply with UEFA's multi-club ownership regulations.
The Premier League side had secured a Europa League spot through their FA Cup victory, but will now have to settle for the Conference League.
Crystal Palace were expelled from the Europa League on Friday after UEFA ruled that co-owner John Textor had breached their ownership rules due to his stake in French side Olympique Lyon, per BBC Sport.
UEFA rules state that clubs owned to a certain threshold by a one person or entity cannot compete in the same European competition
Lyon, who had been relegated to Ligue 2 due to financial issues, will now play in the Europa League after successfully appealing their relegation decision.
The Premier League side can appeal the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The owner missed the March 1 deadline for restructuring the ownership, such as placing one club into a blind trust, where the owner has no knowledge or control over its management.

"This sport is getting so tiring, you got teams like Crystal Palace who have had a great season, historic season for them. And they get punished for absolutely nothing. Then you have teams like Man City who cheat year after year after year, no punishment. What’s the point?"
@WestHamPlace
"You’ve got to feel for Crystal Palace fans. Reality is they have done nothing wrong and as is always the case, the fans who wait a lifetime for success, ultimately suffer."
@SamueILFC:
"It’s sad that Palace are punished from their historic season because of the multi club ownership, but City & Girona and Red Bull Salzburg & RB Leipzig get away with it."
Nottingham Forest will be happy with the decision since they will take their place in the Europa League. Forest had qualified for the UEFA Conference League.
Without Europa League football, some of their players, including Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi, and Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Eze has been heavily linked with Arsenal, so the North London giants will benefit from Palace's predicament, per Sportbible.
Another team that could benefit is Liverpool, who are linked with Guehi. The England centre-back has established himself in the national team and has one year left on his Palace contract
Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing Mateta. Although they are not in Europe, a move to the Red Devils could still be enticing.
Earlier, listed reasons why Man United were struggling to sell their biggest assets.
Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho were told to find new clubs.
One of the main reasons they can't sell is that there's no interest in these players in the market.
