Every Pride Month, New York City's best-dressed gather "Under the K Bridge" for LadyLand Festival. The annual event combines the exuberance of an illegal rave (it's quite literally under the Kosciuszko Bridge, after all) with the fabulosity of Coachella and the community spirit of an LGBTQ+ celebration. As the event's founder, writer, nightlife fixture, and performer Lady Fag puts it: "It's not lost on me that it's Paris Fashion Week right now at the exact same time. But honey baby, this is the runway of life."

This year's looks ranged from bedazzled denim thigh-highs to Jean Paul Gautier mesh and animal prints in all shapes and sizes. "All the kids come correct," adds the festival founder. "They put the time and the love into feeling fabulous. They are fabulous." Drag Race Season 13 Winner Symone, who attended day-one of performances on June 27, agrees that the attendees' creativity and intentionality are what sets LadyLand fashion apart: "I love that you get to express yourself with fashion—that's what New York is, just full of expression and fun and a great time. We're under a bridge, for God's sake."
