A CoComelon and Hello Kitty Collab is Underway-What We Know

Published 6 hours ago2 minute read

The cutest collaboration is almost here!

Get ready, CoComelon and Hello Kitty fans! Your favorite characters from both universes will soon be joining forces.

Sanrio, a Japanese company best known for beloved characters, such as Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and Kuromi, recently struck a deal with Moonbug Entertainment, the owner of CoComelon.

Moonbug Entertainment, which also owns Blippi, recently shared the news of a multi-year creative partnership and a new show. It’s all set to debut in 2026, featuring characters from both franchises, with JJ, Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, and other fun-loving pals all together at last!

Kevin Mayer, the co-CEO and co-founder of Candle Media, the owner of Moonbug Entertainment, first previewed this special upcoming partnership at the APOS Summit in Bali.

“This collaboration brings together two powerful global brands with generations of fans,” Mayer stated at the time. “We’re excited to create fresh experiences that blend the heart and humor of CoComelon with Sanrio’s beloved characters in ways that will delight families around the world.” Clearly, there is a lot for us fans to look forward to.

Why is this collaboration such a big deal? CoComelon originally launched as a children’s YouTube channel in 2006. It was a simple nursery rhyme channel that quickly evolved into one of the most-watched children's entertainment shows. It even headed to Netflix with the spin-off, CoComelon Lane. The first season, which debuted in 2023, had more than 50 million views in the second half of 2024. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many families now consider CoComelon to be a staple in their home.

Even more iconic, Hello Kittycreated by Sanrio and designed by illustrator Yuko Shimizuhas been around since the mid ‘70s. She started as a character on a clear vinyl purse and has become a cultural phenomenon, remaining a beloved and unwavering figure in entertainment industries.

Sanrio’s adorable characters and CoComelon’s colorful engagement are bound to offer comfort and joy to kids and their parents.

Although both Moonbug Entertainment and Sanrio have had extensive, successful partnerships with multiple brands—and even some crossover with each other through collaborations with Crocs and Puma—there has never been a direct partnership between the two. The companies are sure to bring some quality and fun entertainment for the little ones!
