2027 Race Heats Up: Wunti's Bauchi Gov'ship Ambition Officially Confirmed!

The Bala Wunti Movement 2027, a prominent political group based in Bauchi State, has decisively refuted recent widespread rumours that suggested Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, a former Upstream Investment Officer of the NNPCL, would not be contesting the Bauchi State governorship election in 2027. The movement has firmly asserted that Dr. Wunti remains an active and committed participant in the upcoming gubernatorial race, dispelling any doubts about his political aspirations.
Addressing members of the press in Bauchi, Yahaya Miya, the state coordinator of the Bala Wunti Movement, categorized these reports as the calculated actions of “panicking individuals.” Miya elaborated that these individuals are clearly threatened by the increasing popularity and broad acceptance that Dr. Wunti enjoys across the state. He stated, “The rumours do not come as a surprise. They are only expressing their fears over the wide acceptance and rising popularity of Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti,” highlighting the group's belief that the reports are driven by political apprehension.
Miya further clarified that the All Progressives Congress (APC), under which Dr. Wunti intends to contest, has not yet released its official guidelines or deadlines for individuals to declare their interest in elective positions. He unequivocally stressed that Dr. Wunti’s ambition to run for the governorship remains steadfastly on course. “Let me assure you and the general public that there is no going back — Insha Allah, Dr. Bala will contest the seat of the Governorship of Bauchi State come 2027 under the APC,” Miya affirmed, solidifying the commitment to Dr. Wunti’s candidacy. The coordinator also revealed that Dr. Wunti plans to formally declare his intention to run “in no distant future,” indicating that a public announcement is imminent.
In closing, Miya expressed Dr. Wunti's profound appreciation for the unwavering loyalty and consistent mobilization efforts demonstrated by his supporters throughout the state. He assured them that Dr. Bala is well aware of their daily and weekly activities, and that their sustained prayers and support will not be in vain. Furthermore, Miya urged all party members to prioritize unity and abstain from any political rancour, irrespective of their affiliations with other aspirants. He also extended gratitude to the media for its “balanced and positive reportage,” appealing for continued professionalism as the political season intensifies.
