• A reimagining of Beauty and the Beast will launch a North America tour for the musical's 30th anniversary.

• January 1 - The first five Silly Symphonies shorts, the first appearances of Horace Horsecollar as well as other works (books, films, etc.) published in 1929 entered the public domain after this date in the United States, later than most countries and regions. In addition, the soundtracks for Plane Crazy and The Gallopin' Gaucho lapsed into the public domain this year.
• March 15 - Ken Potrock has stepped down from his role as President of the Disneyland Resort into the newly created role of President, The Walt Disney Company Major Events Integration and was succeeded by Thomas Mazloum of Disney Signature Experiences, who assumes the position.
