WNBA Live presented by U.S. Bank will be part of the All-Star Game for the third consecutive season, with this year’s sports, entertainment and culture fanfest taking place in the Phoenix Convention  Center July 19-20.

The WNBA is going to extremes for its AT&T All-Star Game on July 20, with rosters including rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese as well as league icon Diana Taurasi, who will be in her 11th All-Star Game before heading to her sixth Olympics as part of the USA Women’s National Team.

The WNBA has selected the players who will play against the USA Basketball Women’s National Team in Footprint Center, home to Taurasi’s Phoenix Mercury.

The initial selection of the All-Stars was conducted through a combination of voting by fans (50% of the vote), current WNBA players (25%) and a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters (25%).

Clark of the Indiana Fever was the leading vote-getter from the fans, receiving 700,735 with Indiana teammate Aliyah Boston finishing second with 618,680

The Top Five also included A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) with 607,300 votes, Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty, 424,135) and Chicago Sky’s Reese with 381,518 votes.

Wilson and Stewart are part of the USA Basketball Women’s National Team roster.

After considering the fan, player and media votes, the Top Ten vote-getters were (listed in alphabetical order): Aliyah Boston (Indiana), Caitlin Clark (Indiana), Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx), Kahleah Copper (Phoenix), Dearica Hamby (Los Angeles Sparks), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings), Breanna Stewart (New York), A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) and Jackie Young (Las Vegas).

Boston, Clark, Hamby and Ogunbowale, who are not currently on the USA Women’s National Team 5-on-5 roster, are automatically named to participate in the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game and assigned to Team WNBA as a result of being in the top Ten.

Taurasi’s 11 WNBA All-Star selections are second in league history, behind only Sue Bird’s 13. At 42, the 20-year WNBA veteran will be the oldest player to participate in an AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, topping Bird (41 years, 267 days in 2022).

Taurasi, a five-time gold medal Olympian (2004-2020), has played more games than any other women’s player in USA Basketball Olympic history (38) and is second in points scored (414), trailing only Lisa Leslie (488).

In addition to Taurasi, the 2024 USA Women’s National Team includes Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx), Kahleah Copper (Phoenix Mercury), Chelsea Gray (Las Vegas Aces), Brittney Griner (Phoenix Mercury), Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty), Jewell Loyd (Seattle Storm), Kelsey Plum (Las Vegas Aces), Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty), Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun), A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) and Jackie Young (Las Vegas Aces).

USA Women’s National Team head coach Cheryl Reeve (Minnesota Lynx) will be assisted by Kara Lawson (Duke University), Joni Taylor (Texas A&M University) and Mike Thibault (Washington Mystics).

The USA women will hold training camp in Phoenix before competing against the WNBA All-Stars.

The team will then travel to London to play the German Women’s National Team at O2 Arena July 23 (FS1) as part of the 2024 USA Basketball Showcase.

“This roster features some of the best basketball talent our country has to offer and I’m excited to lead this team with the goal of winning an eighth straight Olympic gold medal in Paris,” said Reeve via USA Basketball.

“I’m looking forward to getting together in Phoenix and starting the journey to Paris.”

The names of the next 36 highest vote-getters not already on the USA Women’s National Team, were provided to the 12 WNBA head coaches, who voted to fill the remaining spots for the 12-player Team WNBA roster. Coaches were not able to vote for their own players. Each coach was required to submit votes for five frontcourt players, three guards and four additional players at any position.

Starters for AT&T WNBA All-Star 2024 will be determined by the respective head coaches of Team WNBA and the USA Basketball Women’s National Team.

The 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, already announced as a sellout, will be televised by ABC (8:30 PM ET).

In addition to celebrating the send-off of WNBA players selected to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will be the centerpiece of two days WNBA activities.

Additional events include ESPN’s presentation of the Starry WNBA 3-Point Contest, the Kia WNBA Skills Challenge on July 19 in Footprint Center and WNBA Live presented by U.S. Bank in the Phoenix Convention  Center July 19-20.

After the All-Star Game, the WNBA takes a break for the Olympics until Aug. 15.
