A Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Danbare, Kumbotso LGA, has sentenced two men to one-year imprisonment after they were found guilty of breaching peace at UnguwarDabai.
The convicts, Mustapha Madaki and Nura Hamza, were arraigned and charged with criminal conspiracy and breach of peace.
They were said to have used a hammer to break the door of a mosque in the area over a disputed donation of a coffin.
The judge, Khadi Munzali Idris Gwadabe, also ordered them to pay for the repair of the damaged door as well as sign a one-year peace pact.
Another suspect in the conflict, Ahmad Usman and others still at large, was charged with criminal conspiracy and breach of peace to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution asked for another date to present its witnesses which Khadi Gwadabe granted and adjourned the case till April 18.
