OMAK, Wash. – A two-vehicle collision on State Route 97 sent two drivers and a child to the hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The incident happened near milepost 291 at 4:52 p.m., when a silver Toyota RAV4, driven by a 42-year-old Omak woman, entered an intersection from Dayton Avenue. As she attempted to turn left onto SR-97, a black Subaru Forester reportedly ran a stoplight and collided with the front left side of the Toyota.
The Toyota’s driver and her 4-year-old passenger, who was in a proper car seat, were injured and taken to Mid Valley Hospital. The Subaru’s driver, a 40-year-old man from Tonasket, was also hospitalized.
WSP is investigating the crash and suspect the Subaru driver may have been impaired. Possible charges are being determined.
